Can I learn salsa without a partner?

Yes. Both classes are danced solo: footwork, technique, and musicality are all yours to own. Come alone and leave with a room full of dance friends.

Can I start as a complete beginner?

Yes, both classes are open level. The material is layered: beginners get clean basics, experienced dancers get details, dynamics, and musicality on top of the same material. Nobody is sorted into levels and everyone works at their own pace — the €9 try-out is the easiest way in.

How long does it take to learn salsa?

The basics sit after a few weeks of coming every week, and after one T&M block you dance a whole choreography to one song. From there it keeps growing: technique, timing, and musicality get deeper with every block, which is what keeps salsa exciting for years.

What's the difference between T&M and Shines & Body Movement?

Technique & Musicality (Tuesdays, 20:00 to 22:00) goes deep: one song per 4-week block, its combo and choreography, built up over four sessions. Shines & Body Movement (Wednesdays, 20:00 to 21:30) sets the body free: solo footwork, isolations, and drills in a rolling weekly class with no blocks.

Can I join mid-block?

Yes. Every session is booked on its own from your hours — or with the €9 try-out — and we recap the combo each week. A block is four sessions around one song, so for the complete build-up week one is the start you want; the schedule says which session of the block each date is.

Which language are the classes in?

English. Devin is learning German, so the odd German word slips in, and questions in German are always welcome. Booking, emails, and this site are in English and German.

Is there an age limit?

No. All ages are welcome: both classes are open level and danced solo, so everyone works at their own pace.

What should I wear?

Whatever you can move in. Most people dance in sneakers or socks, and dance shoes are not required.

Can I bring a friend?

Of course. Each of you books your own place: hours belong to one account and pay for one person. If it is your friend’s first class, the try-out is theirs to take.

Where are the studios?

Technique & Musicality dances on Tuesdays from 20:00 to 22:00 at Utopia Vibez, Arnulfstraße 195. Shines & Body Movement dances on Wednesdays from 20:00 to 21:30 at Salsea, Heßstraße 48b. Both are public studios with a maps link on every booking.

Do you teach private classes?

Yes, solo or as a couple: technique, musicality, shines, or partnerwork. You need no partner of your own for partnerwork, you dance it with Devin. Private classes are booked on request: message us on WhatsApp with what you want to work on and we find a time and a studio.

Can you choreograph our wedding dance?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We build the choreography around your song and rehearse it with you in private sessions until it feels effortless, timed to your wedding date. Message us with your date and your song and we plan the first session.

How do hours work?

Accepted Answer

Everything you buy is hours, and one balance works for both nights: a T&M session is 2 hours, a Shines & Body Movement class is 1.5. Book a class and its hours come off; cancel it 24 hours or more before it starts and they come back. Halves add up — 1.5 and 0.5 make a T&M session.

How do I book and pay?

Everything happens online: tap a date on the schedule, or pick a subscription or a pack on the pricing page, and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, card, or PayPal. The hours are yours at once, and with hours in hand a tap on a date books it in one go. Every booking lands in My bookings, every receipt under Receipts.

How far ahead can I book?

As far as your hours reach: pack hours book any class inside the pack’s two months, a plan’s hours any class before the next refill, and the try-out any class inside its month. A new subscription starts on a class in the next four weeks, and subscribers can also reserve classes in the month after. A date further out shows on the schedule with the day it opens.

What's the try-out?

Your first class for €9: one T&M session or one Shines & Body Movement class, your choice, once per account. You pick the date at checkout; it is valid for a month, and if you cancel it 24 hours ahead you can pick another date. Workshops are not covered by the try-out.

Question 17

Pack or subscription, which suits me?

Accepted Answer

A pack is a one-off: 1.5, 6, or 8 hours, valid for 2 months from purchase, for whenever you feel like it. A subscription is for every week: 6 or 8 hours a month, or Unlimited for every class of both nights, at a lower price per hour. Unlimited is the best value if you come to both nights.

How do discount codes work?

Type the code on the pricing page or at checkout, or open a link that carries it, and every price it applies to updates at once. A code takes a fixed amount off; on a subscription it comes off every monthly charge for as long as the plan runs. Codes never apply to the try-out.

How do subscriptions work?

Your month starts on the first class you pick at checkout and refills on that day every month: the charge lands on the refill day at 08:00 on your saved payment method, and the new hours are in the moment it goes through. Unused hours lapse at the refill. The minimum term is three months; after it, you can cancel with 14 days’ notice before any refill.

How do I cancel my subscription?

From My products, or without signing in through “Cancel contracts here” in the footer. Inside the three-month minimum term, the plan ends when the term does. After it, cancel at least 14 days before your next refill and the plan ends at that refill; with less notice, one more month runs. Until the end you book as usual.

Can I pause my subscription?

Accepted Answer

If an injury or illness keeps you from dancing, yes, on request: write us and we pause your plan for a month. Nothing is charged, the hours you hold last through the pause, and your next refill moves on by a month. Reservations are removed, so you rebook once you are back.

Question 22

What is a five-week month?

Accepted Answer

Some months hold five Tuesdays or five Wednesdays. When your month does and you are on a 6- or 8-hour plan, you get 2 hours on top, so the fifth night is covered; Unlimited covers it anyway. It shows in My products the day the month begins.

Question 23

Can I book classes for next month already?

Accepted Answer

With a subscription, yes: classes in the month after the paid one can be reserved, up to your plan’s hours (Unlimited has no cap). A reservation becomes a booking the moment that month is charged. If you also hold a pack, the schedule offers both: reserve for next month, or book now from the pack.

How long are hours valid?

Accepted Answer

Pack hours are valid for 2 months from purchase, the try-out for one month; subscription hours for the paid month, until the refill. When we cancel a class, the pack and try-out hours we hand back stay good for at least four more weeks, and subscription hours until the refill. Hours we give you by hand never expire, unless we give you a date with them.

Where do I see my hours and my plan?

In My products, from the account menu: your balance, each pack and plan with what it still holds and until when, your plan’s month at a glance with its next refill and charge, and everything that has run out. My bookings lists the classes you have booked.

Question 26

What if you close for a break?

Accepted Answer

Closed weeks don’t count. When the school closes for a break — the winter break, say — every subscription’s month pauses for those days, the next charge moves with it, and every pack lasts that many days longer. The break shows on the schedule and you hear about it by email.

What happens if you cancel a single class?

Accepted Answer

Your hours come back in full, whatever the hour: pack and try-out hours then stay good for at least four more weeks, subscription hours until your refill. If you are on a 6- or 8-hour plan with another month to come, you also get 2 hours on top at your next refill, whether or not you were booked, unless we offer you a replacement date instead. You hear about it by email and in your notifications, with the reason.

Can I get a refund?

Subscriptions and packs carry a 14-day right of withdrawal from the day of purchase; hours already used are charged at the pack’s or plan’s price per hour and the rest is refunded. The try-out and workshops are dated leisure services and are excluded from that right, so those bookings are binding once paid. If something truly went sideways, write us: we look at every case and sort it out where we can.

Can I cancel a class I have booked?

Yes, from My bookings or the schedule, any time before it starts. Cancel 24 hours or more ahead and the hours go back to where they came from; later than that, the hours stay spent. A reservation can be removed any time, nothing has been spent.

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but there is nothing to fill in beforehand. The account is created as you pay, from the email address you give at checkout. Afterwards you set a password and confirm the address, and everything you have booked lives in My bookings.

Can I change my plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from My products. A bigger plan starts with your next refill; a smaller one with the first refill after your minimum term. Nothing is charged today, and the three months keep counting.

Can the price of my subscription change?

Accepted Answer

Only with notice. If a plan’s price changes, you hear at least 14 days before it reaches your subscription, and you may cancel to that day whatever your minimum term says. Do nothing and it simply continues at the new price.

Is my card saved, and what happens if a payment fails?

Accepted Answer

A subscription stores your payment method so each month can be charged without you having to do anything. If a charge fails we retry daily for 7 days and My products shows Payment due; put in a different card under Settings and the next try uses it. Until it goes through the plan books nothing new; bookings already made stay.

Can a workshop sell out?

Accepted Answer

It can. A workshop may have a limited number of places, and the page says so once they are gone. If you give a workshop place up it goes straight back on sale and nothing is refunded, and you can only take it back if nobody else has taken it in the meantime.

Is the price on the site the final price?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every price on the site is what you pay, with nothing added at checkout. Your receipt shows exactly what was charged and whether VAT applies.

Tick the box when you book, or use the form at the bottom of any page, and we send one email to confirm it is really you. Nothing is sent until you click that link, and every email after that has a one-click unsubscribe. Signed in, every new post also lands in your notifications.
